Breast cancer survivor Lockey Maisonneuve takes center stage in light of Breast Cancer Awareness Month to share via live streamed video her experience during the Breast Cancer Mosaic Talks (#BCMTalks).

#BCMTalks will feature Lockey as the speaker in a series of one-hour live social video streaming sessions.

The upcoming #BCMTalks takes place in preparation for October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it will seek to increase awareness around breast cancer and what social media can do to spread this message. The session also aims to provide support to other women fighting breast cancer, their families and caregivers.

Lockey began her career in 2004, where she embarked on a career as a personal trainer. Disaster struck in 2006, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Lockey underwent chemotherapy, bi-lateral mastectomies with saline implant reconstruction and radiation.

During this time, Lockey saw a real need for recovering cancer patients to exercise. Not just for the physical rehabilitation, but also the mental aspect of regaining control over their bodies. She believed that if you gain a little more strength and a little more flexibility in your body every day, you gain a little more strength in your soul to continue on.

Meet Lockey during a one hour live stream video session and via Twitter and spread the word on this event by using the hashtag ‘#BCMTalks.’ The event takes place on Wednesday September, 25, ET 4pm  so save this date and join BCM Talks for an opportunity to converse and share your experiences with Lockey.

The BCM Talks session is a precursor to GE Healthcare’s activities during October in which breast cancer becomes the focus throughout the month. GE Healthcare continues to devote resources and research into detecting, managing, and treating a disease that blights the lives of sufferers and their families.
