Today, and looking ahead, we believe collaborations between companies with complementary technologies and expertise are vital in making advances that will help us tackle global challenges such as the increasing burden of disease and cost of healthcare. With global demand for cost effective biotherapeutics set to rise, collaborations like ours will play an increasingly significant role.”
Demand for biopharmaceuticals is set to increase, driven by an ageing population, rising obesity levels and the global effort to reduce the incidence of vaccine preventable diseases. GE Healthcare is building a start-to-finish industry offering with a wide range of integrated products and services for the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. The objective is to help manufacturers develop potentially life-saving treatments more quickly, cost-effectively and in response to both local and global healthcare needs.
