The #GetFit campaign encourages participation, interaction and engagement .
The campaign spreads an important message: eating healthy food and doing regular exercise lowers the chances of getting cancer, and for survivors, of the disease reappearing.
Cancer is a leading cause of death around the world, and its incidence continues to rise. Research has found that a healthy diet and regular exercise can help reduce the risk of cancer. The World Health Organization (WHO) believes that 30–40 per cent of all cancer deaths can be prevented, and one-third can be cured through early diagnosis and treatment.
Back in 2010, GE Healthcare enrolled on a global quest to share this cancer prevention message by engaging audiences via social networks. The #GetFit campaign has reached more than 25.5 million people across the globe during two consecutive years, encouraging participation, interaction and engagement .
