For decades GE Healthcare has invested in leading, state of the art technology for significantly lowering dose in computed tomography (CT) procedures. GE Healthcare's exclusive ASiR†(adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction) low dose reconstruction technology can help physicians significantly reduce dose while maintaining the high image quality and low contrast detectability they need for accurate diagnosis.
ASiR is now used on over 800 scanners worldwide, benefiting more than 20,000 patients every day on 6 million exams to date. By helping physicians effectively reduce dose while maintaining image quality for patients of all ages, ASiR represents GE’s ongoing commitment to improving overall patient care.
Low dose ASiR is now available on the Discovery* NM/CT 670, Discovery* PET/CT 690, and Discovery* PET/CT 600.
Previously offered on Premium 64-slice systems, GE is now offering ASiR on the BrightSpeed* Elite CT systems. When imaging the same object, the BrightSpeed Elite system with ASiR may deliver image pixel standard deviation equivalent to an acquisition with higher generator power.

†In clinical practice, the use of ASiR may reduce CT patient dose dependingon the clinical task, patient size, anatomical location and clinical practice. Aconsultation with a radiologist and a physicist should be made to determinethe appropriate dose to obtain diagnostic image quality for the particularclinical task.
